In the Preliminary Final, Strathalbyn batted first against Hahndorf and although hits to Sasha Penglase and Kathryn “Buttsy” Milne got them on base, they could not get home with Hahndorf’s pitcher/catcher combo of Peyton Daniels to Georgia King making two K2’s and an out at second ending the innings. Hahndorf had safe hits to Zoe Young, Tahlia Larosa and King, a two baser to Michelle Davis and a three baser to Daniels to bring in six runs.

Strath’s second turn at bat had safe hits to Kim Cutting and Tessa Norris but again they could not bring runners home with Hahndorf making an out at first, a K2 and an out at second to send them from the diamond. Hahndorf had hits to Nicola Zobel, Larosa, King and Chloe Davis with a two baser to Daniels and a three baser to Amanda “Reggie” Fairley which brought in a further five runs before Strath made an out at home, pitcher Norris took a catch and Norris and Cutting combined for a K2 to end the innings.

The third innings for Strathalbyn had a three base hit to Penglase who made it home from a hit to the outfield by Crystal Karayiannis while Hahndorf made two outs at home and a catch at centre field by Fairley to prevent any added runs. Even though Hahndorf had multiple safe hits Strath held them to three runs by Tiahna Mayes taking a catch at right field, Emily Eglitis taking a catch at centre field and another K2 to end the innings.

Strathalbyn needed to gain some runs in the fourth innings and they produced one with safe hits to Mayes, Norris and Penglase with Hahndorf making a K2, an out at second and a reflex catch taken by first baser Zobel to end the innings and the game as Hahndorf were enough runs ahead for the game to be called. The final scores were Hahndorf 14 defeated Strathalbyn 2.
