Hills Softball Association Under 14 Mixed (Strathalbyn v Redsox)

Redsox started off the game at bat and came in strong. With Tallera Spinks pitching to Sam Baker, there were three safe hits between Oliver Gray and Ashwin Sharma. Redsox managed to get seven runs in to finish the innings, but not without hard work in the field by Tayah Thornton who managed to get two outs at first by fielding the ball and playing her own base supported by great backing up from Jason Ide. With Strath in to bat we lead off with walks to both Thornton and Scarlett Finn, as well as great hits to Byron Strange and Ashton Ide. Unfortunately, we were only able to get two runs in before Redsox put us away with a strikeout from Gray and two plays to first baser Nathan Golder. 

The next innings went well for Redsox, starting off with an awesome three base hit to Zaxton Sward, followed by great base running from the rest of the team to pull in another seven runs. Thornton once again managed to get an out by fielding the ball and playing her own base. Our last turn at bat we managed to pull in another four runs through smart running with walks to Thornton, Strange, Baker and Kodi Goodwin. Both Lincoln Strange and Jason Ide were hit by pitched balls, and there were two great hits to Finn and Spinks. The final score for the game was Redsox 14 to Strathalbyn 6.
