The second innings for Redsox was three up three down with a K2 and K. Pash making another out at first and taking a catch to send them from the diamond. Strath were choosy with their pitches and gained five walks with Sims and Kelly Roe getting safe hits and K. Pash hitting a big three baser which all helped to bring home six runs with Redsox making two outs at third and Mackay taking a sky high catch to end the innings.

Redsox added two runs in the third, one each to Chloe Zakelj and Mackay with Strath’s K. Pash making an out at second, Peyton Daniels taking a catch and Norris making an out at first. Strath had three up three down in the third with a catch taken by Thomson, a line drive catch taken by Cross at first and then playing her base quickly to get the runner out for a double play.

The fourth dig for Redsox was also scoreless with Strath making two K2’s and an out at first made by Daniels. Safe hits to Roe and B. Pash and a two baser to Daniels brought Roe home to add one run to Strath’s tally before Redsox could make an out at first, a K2 and a catch at centre by Chloe Zakelj.

The fifth dig for Redsox had a three base hit to Thomson who made it home before Strath’s second baser Peterson could make an out at first and K. Pash took another two catches to end the innings. Strath came in for another bat and again with choosy batting gained walks but could not get anyone home before time and game were called. Final scores for the game were Strathalbyn 8 defeated Redsox 4.

Hills Softball Association ‘C’ Grade Women (Strathalbyn v Hahndorf)

Hahndorf started their batting dig well with a two base hit to Faber-Paul who with great running made it home for their only run before Strath could shut them down with Laura Sneath making an out at first, pitcher Bailey also making an out at first and combining with Crawford as catcher for a K2 to send them from the diamond.

Strath’s second batting dig added a further five runs with safe hits to Sneath and Bailey, a two baser to Monica Spriggs and a three baser to Crawford with Hahndorf’s pitcher/catcher combo of Celeste Paul and Kerry Lawson making a K2 and centrefielder Chantelle Ingram taking a catch and then getting the ball in quickly to first to catch the runner out of their ground for the third out and a double play. Hahndorf gained one run in the third with Janaya Liebelt getting a two base hit with Strath’s Bailey and Crawford working well again for a K2, Sneath making another out at first and another K2 ended the innings.

The only safe hit for Strath in the third was to Kelly Roe but she was left stranded with Hahndorf making an out at first, Lawson now at left field taking a catch and Ingram now at third making an out at first to hold Strath scoreless. Hahndorf had safe hits to Faber-Paul and Tammy Craig in their third turn at bat and the highlight of the game was a home run to Ingram which helped add two runs to their tally before Strath’s Sneath now playing at left field took a catch, and two outs at first ended the innings and the game.
