Alexandrina Council will completely close the Sunter Street bridge in Strathalbyn for restoration works for at least five weeks from Monday 31 October.
The works are part of the Strathalbyn Town Centre Streetscape Revitalisation project.
At the same time road works will be done at the intersections of Sunter Street and Swale Street, and Swale Street and High Street.
These intersections will be partially closed during this time, with detour signs in place to guide road users around the works.
All adjacent areas will be accessible to local traffic.
The council will place electronic message boards on the main approaches to Sunter Street to give prior notice of the closure.
The bridge and road works are expected to be completed by Tuesday 6 December.
