Hills Softball Association Under 14 Mixed (Strathalbyn v Redsox)
Strath were up to bat first and were able to gain some walks which helped bring Tallera Spinks and Kodi Goodwin home before Redsox shortstop Sam Hancock took a catch and quickly threw to first to catch the runner short of their ground for a double play and then a play at home was the third out. Redsox came in to bat and again walks were gained with Aiden Storr and Nathan Golder both getting hits which all helped to bring in the full seven runs with no outs made by Strath.
The second batting dig for Strath also gained more walks with some good choices of whether to hit or leave and this gained Strath a further four runs with Eva Eglitis and Sam Baker among those to get home with Redsox making two outs at first and a K2 to Golder and catcher Zaxton Sward. Redsox turn at bat gained some walks also through good choices with safe hits to Hancock, Storr and Ashwin Sharma. Strath worked hard in the field with Baker making a put out at first and new pitcher/catcher combo of Imogen Baker to Spinks working well together for a K2 but Redsox were able to bring in the full seven runs again before Strath could get a third out.
The third dig for Strath produced safe hits to Scarlett Finn and Tayah Thornton and with walks gained they were able to bring in six runs with Lincoln Strange being one to come home with the only out for the innings one at third base before time and game were called. Every Strath player made it home during the game, there were some good hits made and some good fielding happening so coaches and parents are very proud of the improvements you are all making. Final scores for the game were Redsox 14 to Strathalbyn 12.
