Police are investigating a report of food contamination in produce bought from a Goolwa supermarket.

Last night, a local resident reported finding a thumb tack in a punnet of strawberries that had been purchased from Foodland Goolwa on Monday 6 July.

Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident. The strawberries have been removed from sale.

Police are investigating, including reviewing CCTV from the store, and advise the public that it is a serious offence to contaminate food products and to do so can have obvious dangers for others.

Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au
