Round Seven of the Stronger Communities grants program has opened for applications.

The program provides each of the 151 Federal electorates in Australia with $150,000 to fund small capital projects so eligible community groups can buy equipment or upgrade facilities. 

Mayo MP Rebekha Sharkie is encouraging local groups to apply for grants from $2,500 up to $20,000. 

“As in previous rounds, I will set up an independent panel of community leaders to assess Expressions of Interest (EOI) and select a shortlist of 20 applications to submit to the Commonwealth for final approval.”

The deadline for submitting EOI is 5pm on Friday 10 December. 

“Filling in an EOI is really simple,” Ms Sharkie says.

“It's only if and when your EOI is selected that you have to go through the official grant application process.”
