City of Onkaparinga Mayor Erin Thompson has issued her annual challenge for local children to read over the summer holidays.

The Mayor's Summer Reading Club launch party will be held in the  Willunga Rose Garden on Friday 3 December.

Children can collect their reading club participant packs and enjoy making and flying their own kites with Free as a Bird Kites.

The fun will happen at this free event from 3.30pm to 4.30pm and bookings are essential via Eventbrite.

Other reading club events will be held at Seaford and Noarlunga libraries on 14 and 15 December.
