Summer school holiday fun

The summer weather has been slow to arrive on the Fleurieu, but the holidays are here and there is plenty to do indoors and out.

The first week is all about Christmas – making decorations, face painting, carols, crafts in the local libraries and visits from Santa.

There is also snorkelling at Second Valley; Laser skirmish on Victor oval; Normy Summer Beachfest; a magic show in Goolwa; drumming; gardening; board games and so much more.

There is something free or low cost to suit all ages across the region. Check out this program of holiday events published by Alexandrina Council.

Venues include Goolwa, Strathalbyn, Victor Harbor and Yankalilla libraries; Normanville foreshore; Goolwa Community Centre, Sports Centre and Aquatic Club; and Fleurieu Environment Centre.

Onkaparinga Council offers the Mayor’s Summer Reading Challenge, Christmas story time and summer crafts and games through the Noarlunga, Aldinga and Willunga  libraries.

There are also fun things to do from now until the end of January at the Studio 20 Youth Centre in Aldinga Beach and the Wardli Youth Centre at Christies Beach, including a kayaking session at Port Noarlunga.

Check out the full program of holiday events and activities on the City of Onkaparinga website.
