Support RSPCA with a movie night these school holidaysRSPCA South Australia fundraiser

Fleurieu residents are encouraged to make the trip to Mitcham next Wednesday evening 2 October, for a special screening of The Wild Robot at Wallis Cinemas. The event, part of an RSPCA South Australia fundraiser, will help support the care of animals across the state, including those in this region.

The animated science fiction film, based on the popular book series by Peter Brown, follows the story of a robot named Roz who finds herself stranded on a wildlife-rich island. With a star-studded voice cast including Bill Nighy, Pedro Pascal, and Mark Hamill, the heartwarming tale explores themes of kindness, empathy, and environmental protection—values closely aligned with the work of the RSPCA.

Carolyn Jones, a spokesperson for RSPCA SA, says the movie is a solid match for the charity’s mission. “Empathy and kindness are core to our work with animals, and The Wild Robot beautifully captures those same values. Attending this screening not only offers a great movie experience but also contributes to the rescue and care of some of our state’s most vulnerable animals.”

Proceeds from the screening will directly support over 550 animals currently in the RSPCA’s care, including those at the O'Halloran Hill Animal Care Centre, foster homes, and shelters across South Australia.

Join in the fun and help make a difference by attending this special movie night. The Wild Robot will screen at 6.30 pm at Wallis Cinema Mitcham, inside Mitcham Square Shopping Centre. Tickets can be booked online at the Wallis Cinemas website.

Your support could help the animals in our region and beyond, so don't miss out on this opportunity to make a difference!
