Victor Harbor is to get a drive through Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) collection point staffed by volunteers from local surf lifesaving clubs.
The site can be used by people who have been identified as a close contact of a person with COVID-19 but who have not yet developed symptoms.
People who have symptoms of COVID-19 must get the more accurate PCR test instead.
People are required to register before attending the site to pick up the tests.
David Basham, the sitting member for Finniss, made the announcement on Facebook late yesterday.
His post said “The new drive-through site will be set up on vacant land next to the Encounter Centre on Armstrong Road, Victor Harbor.”
“Tests will be distributed from booths manned by Surf Lifesaving Club volunteers.”
“If you are deemed a close contact, please remember to register online at www.sahealth.sa.gov.au before collecting your free Rapid Antigen Testing kit.”
“PCR Testing is still required if you have symptoms.”
“Don't hesitate to contact the Finniss Electorate Office for assistance registering online.”
An image accompanying the post said the collection point would open today and operate from 8am to 6pm.
The pick-up site hasn’t yet been listed on the SA Health website or been announced on their social media.
