It’s all about the surf in Middleton on the last weekend of April, with the 2023 Southern Surf Festival and a vintage surfboard exhibition.

The state surf titles will take place at Middleton Point, featuring live music, local food and drink, arts and crafts, plus a board swap meet, as well as spectacular surf skills on show.

The two-day celebration of SA surfing happens on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 April, with more than 200 competitors trying for the state championships in shortboard, longboard and kneeboard events.

Several surf schools will offer tryouts for first time surfers on the Sunday, which will also feature an interclub competition as well as twin and single fin events.

The southern surf vintage surfboard display will take place alongside the festival, at Higgins Place in Middleton, featuring boards from 1964 to 1990.
