JaDs Hairdressers was named Business of the Year at the 2023 Business Victor Harbor (BVH) Excellence in Business awards.

Businesses across the region were celebrated at a black tie event at the Convention Centre in McCracken on Friday 1 December.

JaDs owner Taryn Lattanzio paid tribute to her staff when accepting the award.

“We have worked so hard on sustainability and service.”

JaDs also took out the Sustainable Business award.

BVH Executive Officer Colin Shearing said the awards categories had been adjusted to align with Business SA, which would provide a platform for further recognition of local businesses. 

He said the awards will now be held every two years but winners will continue to be determined  by an independent panel of anonymous judges.

“The 2023 Excellence in Business Awards provides a platform to acknowledge and commemorate the accomplishments of regional businesses and their employees. 

“It’s an opportunity to appreciate the relentless effort and commitment of those who have made significant contributions to their field.” 

In what he said would be his last event in office, BVH Chair Michael Schubert thanked outgoing Member Services officer Julie Irwin for her dedicated service and introduced her successor Ryan Smith.

“Tonight is a testament to the power of unity and collaboration.”

The 2023 Business Victor Harbor, Excellence in Business Awards were sponsored by Fleurieu Bendigo Community Bank and Adam Connelly, of Radio 5MU was MC.
