A 16-year-old learner driver is facing court after allegedly crashing into a tree while drink driving at Seaford Rise early Saturday morning.
Police were called to Whitestone Crescent just before 2am on 31 May following reports of a crash. When officers arrived, they found a blue Mazda sedan had collided with a tree.
The driver, from O’Halloran Hill, and her 17-year-old passenger were not injured in the incident.
A roadside breath test returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.103—more than twice the legal limit.
The teenager was reported for drink driving and breaching the conditions of her learner’s permit. She was issued with an immediate six-month loss of licence, and her vehicle was towed from the scene.
