Temporary road closure - Inman Valley

A section of Inman Valley Road will be closed for around six weeks from Monday 24 October, weather permitting.

The temporary closure will enable the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) to upgrade the culvert adjacent to the junction with Hurrel Road, west of Inman Valley.

During the closure period, a temporary detour will be in place, with local access to be maintained at all times.

DIT has asked road users to plan ahead, expect delays, allow extra travel time and take extra care when workers are on site.

It will upgrade a series of bridges and culverts across the state to improve safety for road users.

Two further upgrades to replace culverts and upgrade safety barriers have been planned for the Fleurieu Peninsula:

  • Hindmarsh Tiers - Bridge over Hindmarsh River located on Hindmarsh Tiers Road approximately 10 kilometres east of Myponga.
  • Sandergrove - Culvert over watercourse located on Alexandrina Road approximately 6.5 kilometres south of Strathalbyn.

Advance notification of works, timing and local traffic management can be provided via email updates: Register online for project updates.
