Population growth and increased visitor numbers has meant the future sustainability of the Fleurieu Peninsula has never been more important. Regional leadership program, Fleurieu Future Leaders’ Program with well over 100 graduates, is committed to ensuring the region thrives, now and into the future, under the guidance and influence of key leaders within the community.

The Fleurieu Future Leaders Program (FFLP) purpose is to build the next generation of leaders in the community to protect and enhance the Fleurieu region through action by encouraging and empowering key individuals.

Previous alumni graduating from the program have made significant and long-lasting change in the region, just as a group from the 2020 alumni did having successfully campaigned for the preservation of the Aldinga Washpool – a parcel of land that was previously at risk of sale to private developers.

The Fleurieu Future Leaders’ Program, the brainchild of Fleurieu locals and business leaders Charles and Janice Manning of Face the World and supported by Bendigo Community Bank, is now in its sixth year boasts an impressive alumnus of 100 graduates.   

Applicants are encouraged to apply for the next intake, open now, to those living or working on the Fleurieu Peninsula.  Applicants don’t need to have any leadership or management experience, but those with a strong desire to make a difference in their region are highly regarded to apply.

The Fleurieu Future Leaders Program (FFLP) aims to build the next generation of community leaders  to protect and enhance the Fleurieu region through action by encouraging and empowering key individuals. These leaders then have the potential to move the Fleurieu region further toward being a world leader in economic and environmental sustainability with a coherent identity grounded in history and embracing the future.

The program is an intensive course that takes participants on a deep dive into personal development and leadership training over five modules. The program incorporates leadership and management teachings, empowering candidates to pursue their dreams, assist with confidence building, break down barriers to success, provide knowledge regarding the financial and legal implications of doing business, teach about the importance of team collaboration and develop a fantastic network of people.
