The Hills Cricket premiership race is wide open

The Hills Cricket Association (HCA) season resumes on Saturday (6/1/24) with four very important round 11 fixtures. The season is desperately tight with all eight sides a chance of qualifying for finals. After missing finals action last season, Kangarilla and Scott Creek Ironbank have been the surprise packets of the competition so far, each winning six games to sit in the top-two on the HCA ladder.

Only two games separates eighth from third with Meadows and Bridgewater, despite being on the bottom two rungs of the ladder, still a good chance of playing finals cricket. Mylor, Stirling, Aldgate and Mt Lofty have been inconsistent during the first half of the season but are more than capable of playing, and winning finals.

Some of the best performers with the bat so far in 2023/24 have been Rohan Reid (Meadows) with 511 runs, Jordan Neis-Beer (Mt Lofty - 377 runs) and Jack Read (Stirling - 372 runs). Best with the ball include Jarrad Tait (Bridgewater), Jake Turnbull (Aldgate) and Jack Woollard (Aldgate) who have all taken 14 wickets this season.

Ladder (after round 10)

Kangarilla 39, Scott Creek Ironbank 39, Mt Lofty 33, Aldgate 33, Stirling 27, Mylor 27, Bridgewater 21, Meadows 21.
