The region at your fingertips: Fleurieu App is live!Susie Williams is excited to launch the Fleurieu App in August.

Everything you need to help you discover the secrets, services and must-sees of the Fleurieu Peninsula is now available at your fingertips through the freshly launched Fleurieu App.

It’s a free app for locals and visitors to the Fleurieu Peninsula and Kangaroo Island, now available for download via Google Play or the Apple App Store.

Whether it’s breaking news or sport, weather information, things to do, events, business listings, local attractions, jobs, council updates, visitor centres or the nearest restaurants, cafes, cellar doors, breweries and bars to you – Fleurieu App has it all.

The app, which went live in early August, is the baby of Silver Sands resident Susie Williams.

Susie returned to the Fleurieu Peninsula with her husband and their three daughters in early 2019, after a stint living in New Zealand. There, Susie was part of the team that created and ran the highly-successful Marlborough App, which links local people and visitors to the myriad of experiences and businesses available in the area.

Upon returning to the Fleurieu, Susie could see massive potential and says she, “couldn’t wait to build an app for this fabulous region”.

Originally from Buckleboo on the Eyre Peninsula, Susie has an affinity with regional areas and a passion for promoting their achievements. And with a background in photography, tourism, viticulture and agriculture, living on the Fleurieu is the perfect fit for Susie.

“This is the third time living on the Fleurieu and we always promised ourselves this is where we will settle,” she says.

“So – here we are!”

She thanks the supporters who have already come on board by listing their businesses on the app or downloading it to their devices. She makes special mention of the Fleurieu Milk Company, which was one of the app’s early supporters.

“The team at Fleurieu Milk Company are so parochial about the region and keen to promote it far and wide,” Susie says.

“So we have a lot in common!

“We are a region full of passionate people, and the app is all about enhancing our region, our people and our businesses.”

Simon Phillips from Fleurieu Milk Company says getting involved with Fleurieu App was a "no-brainer".

"We began as a small, family operation too, and wouldn’t be where we are today without the support from local businesses and the community," says Simon.

"We liked how the app supports local businesses, which is something we've always tried to do.

"It's a nice concept.

"The Fleurieu is quite a big area but people like to find things at the touch of a button these days.

"It's something that's so easy to jump on and find out about local stores, medical centres, newsagencies, weather and what's going on in the news.

"It's the 'Fleurieu App', and we are 'Fleurieu Milk' - so it definitely made sense for us to get involved.

"We think more businesses and services will follow."

Susie has enjoyed meeting many of the region’s amazing business people so far and looks forward to making even more connections.

She invites businesses located on or servicing the Fleurieu Peninsula to get in touch about getting listed on the app. To enquire, phone Susie on 0455 791 190 or send an email to [email protected]

She also encourages locals and anyone currently visiting or planning a trip to the region to download the app, as well as following Fleurieu App on Facebook: www.facebook.com/FleurieuApp/ and Instagram: @fleurieuapp
