The next online author talk in series 2 of Southern Deadly Yarns will be on Wednesday 23 June.


Thomas Mayor is a Torres Strait Islander man born and raised on Larrakia country in Darwin. 


From wharfie to union official to author, he is a tireless campaigner and signatory of the Uluru Statement From the Heart. 


He will yarn about his books Finding the Heart of the Nation and Finding Our Heart, the path to Reconciliation.


Thomas will also discuss ways to support substantive constitutional change.

The award winning Southern Deadly Yarns series is presented by Neporendi Aboriginal Forum Inc. and Onkaparinga Libraries.


It features Australia’s top First Nations authors, from sports stars to political experts and fresh literary faces, who examine topics including truth telling, recognition, and a what makes a good yarn.
