Three men have been arrested on firearms and theft charges following an attempted robbery at a homemaker store in Noarlunga Centre yesterday afternoon.
At approximately 5:10 p.m. on Tuesday, 26 February, Southern District police patrols were called to the store after staff reported two men attempting to steal a drone. Employees confronted the suspects and detained them until officers arrived.
The suspects informed police they had arrived in a silver Toyota Corolla, which was located in the car park with a third man seated inside. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a large wooden club near the driver’s seat and a backpack on the rear seat containing a black gel blaster.
As a result, police arrested three men—aged 20, 22, and 23—all from Adelaide. They have been charged with multiple offences, including theft, possession of a firearm without a licence, possession of an unregistered firearm, and carrying an offensive weapon.
The trio was denied police bail and is scheduled to appear in Christies Beach Magistrates Court today, Wednesday, 26 February.
