Three youths to face court over break ins at Strathalbyn and Milang

Hills Fleurieu patrols have arrested two youths and reported another involved in a string of break-ins around Strathalbyn and Milang.


It will be alleged, on Friday 16 August, Hills Fleurieu police received several reports of breaks on houses with the offenders targeting occupant’s personal items and vehicles.


The youths were disturbed at one break in Strathalbyn and fled on a stolen quad bike. A short time later police received reports of youths acting suspiciously in the Milang area.


Numerous police attended the area and the youths fled on foot across paddocks and scrub land when they sighted police. After a substantial search that lasted about four hours, police located and arrested two youths.


One of the youths, a 13-year-old boy from Strathalbyn was also found to have removed his home detention bracelet. He was charged with Aggravated Serious Criminal trespass, Unlawfully on Premises, Theft and Breach of Bail. He was refused bail and will face Mount Barker Youth Court at a date to be set.


The other youth, an 11-year-old boy from Strathalbyn was charged with two counts of Aggravated Serious Criminal Trespass, Unlawfully on Premises, Theft and Illegal Use. He was bailed to appear in the Mount Barker Youth Court on 2 October.


Further enquiries also led to a 15-year-old girl from Strathalbyn being reported for Aggravated Serious Criminal Trespass. She will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
