Tours of historic Glenbarr homestead

Free Guided tours around the historic homestead of Glenbarr and grounds as part of the South Australian History Festival in the month of May.


The tours will be available between 11am and 3.30pm on Wednesday 5, Friday 7, Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 May and again on Wednesday 19, Friday 21, Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 May.


Devonshire teas and refreshments will be available for purchase for $5 each within the Stable Inn on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. 


Special High Teas will be on offer on Mother's Day, Sunday 9 May and Sunday 23 May for $40 per head. 


Glenbarr is located at 1400b Paris Creek Road, just outside Strathalbyn. It is a heritage listed homestead set on 35 acres of gently undulating farming land alongside Middle Creek.


Originally a home for Scottish pioneers, the homestead was one of the first buildings in Strathalbyn, built around 1842.
