McLaren Vale was named Best Dressed Town for the day during the women’s Tour Down Under (TDU) and now it’s time for Alexandrina townships to put their best wheels forward.

Streets across Alexandrina will come alive during the men’s TDU race this Friday 19 January, as Langhorne Creek, Strathalbyn, Ashbourne, Goolwa, Middleton, and Port Elliot dress up their towns to welcome the Hahn Men’s Stage 4 race. 

TDU Best Dressed Town Competition organisers have received nominations from Middleton, Port Elliot and Goolwa. 

The Middleton Town and Foreshore Association has created a colourful display of bikes and surfboards and a volunteer community group known as ‘The Yarners’ have put up a display of yarn-bombed bikes in Port Elliot. 

Alexandrina Council has put up decorated second-hand bikes, donated by the community, around Goolwa and other towns. 

It has also assisted the community with TDU-supplied bunting and other materials and awarded a grant to the Middleton Town and Foreshore Association to decorate their town and host a community event.

The council has announced the Commercial and Community Property Nominees for this year's TDU Best Dressed Town Competition. They include:
