BCS Electrical were the big winners at the Business Victor Harbor (BVH) Business Excellence awards on Saturday 27 November.

The Hindmarsh Valley family business took out the award for Outstanding Business as well as topping the hotly contested Trades and Industry category.

BCS owners Leanne and Glenn Farr were emotional when accepting their awards, business manager Leanne expressing her gratitude for support from other businesses and the wider community.

The black tie awards event was held at the Victor Harbor Golf club to celebrate and showcase excellence in business across all industries in Victor Harbor and the wider South Coast region.

Mayor Moira Jenkins and BVH chair Michael Schubert launched the region’s new logo and branding, Victor Harbor - Feel it Calling.

It aims to create a renewed impression of the Victor Harbor as a place of choice to live, work, invest and visit.

All businesses within the Victor Harbor Council area were eligible to enter the Excellence Awards, as well as members of BVH whose businesses are located outside the city.

The business categories were Hospitality, Tourism, Trades and Industry, Retail, Professional Services and Community Care / Education.

Other Awards included Employee of the Year, Trainee of the Year, New Business of the Year and Agribusiness.

The awards program was run and judged independently of Business Victor Harbor.
