Kangaroo Island welcomed its first cruise ship for the summer season on 25 October 2023.

A total of 24 ships will visit the Island in the period up to 10 April 2024.

On the days where a cruise ship is in port, the speed limit in the Penneshaw township will be reduced to 25km/h whilst the ships have passengers ashore.

KI council has installed four new signs in the Penneshaw township to display the temporary lower speed limits when applicable.

The next cruise ship visit will be on Saturday 11 November; there will be 10 visits in December, eight in January and six in February.
