Celebrate Turtle Month at Alexandrina Libraries’ free wildlife forum in Goolwa on Thursday 7 November.
Turtle Tales: Protecting Our Local Species will tell all about local turtle species, why they are so important to the environment and what can be done to help protect them.
The forum will feature expert speakers Professor Mike Thompson and Deanne from Alexandrina Wildlife Support Group.
Mike is a leading turtle specialist with the University of Sydney, who pioneered research on the threats facing Australian turtles.
Deanne is a passionate wildlife rescuer with firsthand stories of rescuing local turtles and other local native species.
Learn about the 1 Million Turtles Community Conservation Program and how to use Turtlesat - Turtle Survey and Analysis Tools to report turtle sightings and contribute to conservation efforts.
