Two people were arrested at Langhorne Creek this afternoon after allegedly failing to pull over for police at the Coorong.
Just after 2pm, Thursday 1 February, police were conducting speed detection duties on the Princes Highway when they clocked a gold Commodore travelling at 133k m/h in a 100 km/h zone.
The vehicle headed west on the Princes Highway through Tailem Bend.
Police successfully spiked the car’s tyre at Monteith, however, it continued travelling onto Jervois Road where it was picked up by PolAir and tracked as it continued west onto Langhorne Creek Road.
About 3.30pm the car left the road near Lee Road and the driver and passenger fled into a paddock.
They were quickly apprehended by patrols.
The driver, a 22-year-old man, tested positive to methamphetamine. He and his 19-year-old female passenger, both from the State's South East, are facing multiple traffic offences.
The Holden Commodore was seized and towed from the scene.
Investigations are continuing and police ask anyone with dashcam footage of this vehicle and its manner of driving today to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au
