Two woman have been arrested after crashing a stolen car in Christies Beach early this morning.

Just before 3.30am on Friday 19 May patrols attempted to stop a grey Holden Berlina on Beach Road. The driver failed to stop and the car was pursued a short distance. As the driver turned onto Doctors Road the car hit the curb before hitting a stop sign and coming to rest.

Both the driver and passenger ran from the car but were apprehended a short distance away.

The driver a 24-year-old woman from Morphett Vale was charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle, engage in police pursuit and driving without licence.

The passenger a 27-year-old woman from Christie Downs was charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle.

Both woman have been bailed to appear in court at a later date.
