Two men injured in south coast boat accident

Police are investigating a boating accident which occurred at Goolwa South.


Just after 1pm, Saturday 21 May, patrols and paramedics were called to Riverside Drive, after two men were injured when the speed boat they were in flipped and sank.


Both men, who were wearing life jackets, were rescued by local boaties and taken ashore to waiting paramedics.


A 69-year-old from Middleton was airlifted to the Flinders Medical Centre in a serious condition while his passenger, a 59-year-old from Strathalbyn was also taken to the Flinders Medical Centre in a serious condition.


Investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing.
