The Great Southern Cricket Association (GSCA) season resumes on Saturday (6/1/24) with round eight featuring five 1-day fixtures. Port Elliot are undefeated and sitting on top of the ladder with Willunga, Encounter Bay, Noarlunga, Mt Compass and McLaren Districts rounding out the top-six.
2022/23 minor premier Goolwa have won their past two games to sit in seventh position, level on points with Yankalilla. 2022/23 finalists Myponga-Sellicks and the newly promoted Victor Harbor will struggle to play finals but can definitely shape the top-six.
The leading run-getters so far this season are Matt Overall (Encounter Bay) with 378 runs, Cam Bullard (Noarlunga - 352 runs) and Simon Roberts (Willunga - 272 runs). Roberts (28 wickets), Ben Griffiths (Port Elliot - 17 wickets), Overall (13 wickets), Blake Bailey (Encounter Bay - 13 wickets) and Vinnie Nizzola (Myponga-Sellicks - 13 wickets) are the leading wicket takers.
