The streets of Victor Harbor will be full of underwear-clad women on Saturday 22 October, all in the name of celebrating the perfect imperfection that is everybody, and shifting shame and sharing stories.

More than 170 women have registered to take part in the annual She Is Seen Festival, being held in Victor Harbor’s Town Centre for the first time since its inception.

Local woman Libby Tozer, the founder of the She Is Seen Movement, says the festival is a combination of an arts event as well as a life-changing opportunity for those who take part.

“She Is Seen Movement has become a community of incredible humans with a shared vision to shift perceptions and change the damaging narrative that contributes anyone feeling like they are not enough, that there is something that needs to be fixed, morphed or cured before we are enough, before we are worthy of been seen, heard and taking up space.

“The festival will also raise funds for some amazing women’s causes,” Libby says.

This year’s event is an all-day affair for those who have pre-registered to take part, starting at the Victor Harbor Artisan Markets.

The day will include body positive flash mobs roving the town centre throughout the day, live music dance and cinema magic in Victa Cinemas and multiple major photoshoots.

The festival has been made possible through sponsorship and grants from the Australian Government's Regional Arts Fund, Country Arts SA, Regional Arts Australia, SteamRanger, Victa Cinema, the City of Victor Harbor.
