Update: Arrest after crash at Hindmarsh Valley

A man has been arrested following a serious crash at Hindmarsh Valley earlier this month.

Emergency services responded to the two-car head-on crash on Victor Harbor Road, Hindmarsh Valley just before 7am on Wednesday 16 October.

As a result of the collision, a Toyota Land cruiser went over a barrier and rolled down an embankment onto its roof and the engine of the Holden Cruze was ripped from the vehicle.

Both drivers, a 25-year-old Lower Inman Valley man and a 28-year-old Encounter Bay man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to hospital by ambulance.

The Holden was towed from the scene and the Toyota was recovered by crane.

On Tuesday 22 October, the driver of Holden Cruze, a 28-year-old man from Encounter Bay, was arrested and charged with dangerous driving causing serious harm and driving without a valid licence.  He was granted police bail to appear in Victor Harbor Magistrates Court on 2 December.
