Update: Assault and house fire Carrickalinga

A man has been charged following an assault and house fire at Carrickalinga this morning.


About 2.50am Sunday 4 June emergency services were called to a home on Carrickalinga Road after reports three people had been assaulted by a person known to them and the house where the incident occurred was on fire.


When police arrived they located a 37-year-old local man attempting to leave the scene on a motorbike. He was arrested and has been charged with assault, two counts of causing serious harm and arson. He has been refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.


The victims, a 34-year-old Carrickalinga woman, 48-year-old Carrickalinga man and 52-year-old Keyneton man, received non-life threatening injuries, the 34-year-old and 52-year-old were taken to hospital for treatment.


Significant damage was caused to the house with CFS able to bring the fire quickly under control. Crime Scene officers will be attending the scene this morning to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fire.
