A man has died following a fatal crash at Ashbourne last night.

About 6.40pm Wednesday 7 December, emergency services were called to Ashbourne Road after a car left the road and crashed into a tree. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 48-year-old Unley man, sadly died at the scene.

Ashbourne Road was closed for several hours between Wattle Flat Road and Cox Road while Major Crash Officers examined the scene but it has since reopened to all traffic.

The man’s death is the 65th life lost on SA roads this year, compared to 93 at the same time last year.
