Alexandrina Council has advised of traffic disruptions due to major roadworks in Strathalbyn and Middleton, starting Monday 5 February.

Temporary intersection closures along High Street in Strathalbyn will apply between 5 February and 16 February.

Dates for temporary closures will be:

• Intersection of High Street and Grey Street – closed 7 am to 7 pm Monday 5 February 2024. One day only.
• Intersection of High Street and Swale Street – closed 7 am to 7 pm Tuesday 6 February 2024. One day only.
• Intersection of High Street and Sunter Street – scheduled to close Monday 12 February 2024. The final date and times are to be confirmed.

The council advises that detours will be in place to guide road users around the closures and access to the High Street precinct will be maintained.

Construction of two long awaited pedestrian refuge crossings in Middleton's main street will also start on Monday 5 February.

The crossings near the Middleton Tavern and the Middleton IGA are expected to be completed in early March.

Detours will be in place during night work - scheduled for 14 February, 15 February and 22 February, from 6pm to 6am, weather permitting.

Contraflow traffic management will be in place for day work on 16 and 22 February.
