CFS crews were alerted to reports of a fire in a vehicle stored under a carport attached to a residential property on Hindmarsh Island early this morning, Thursday 31 October.
Eight CFS firefighters on two trucks arrived on scene as the car fire was rapidly spreading to the carport.
A quick CFS response allowed firefighters to assume control of the fire and to limit damage to the carport, effectively saving the rest of the house that shared the same roof structure. The damage to the impacted assets is estimated at $135,000.
SA Police and SA Ambulance assisted firefighters on scene and Fire Investigators will attend later today, with no cause yet identified. Property occupants were assessed by SA Ambulance on site and no injuries have been reported.
