This afternoon, CFS crews were called to a tractor fire in a vineyard at Langhorne Creek on the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Approximately 20 CFS firefighters arrived to find the fire had spread from the tractor and spray unit into surrounding vineyard.

Thanks to their skilled response, crews in breathing apparatus were able to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading further into the vineyard.

Unfortunately the tractor and spray unit were completely destroyed with damages estimated at $250,000.

Crews were supported by SA Police. Firefighters will remain on scene to finalise mopping up and monitoring for smouldering areas.
