Veteran health check - have a say

South Australian veterans have been asked to have their say to improve access to health care and support their wellbeing.

Anyone who has served in the Australian Defence Force – past or present – as well as their loved ones, families, carers, and veteran support organisations can get involved.

They are asked to submit their feedback on the draft SA Health Veteran Wellbeing Action Plan 2023-26 plan.

The plan has been developed in collaboration with the Veterans’ Health Advisory Council to improve access to health services and mental health programs, as well as streamline treatment and referral pathways and social supports.

Minister for Veterans' Affairs Geoff Brock MP says the plan also details how data will be collected to help improve SA Health services for veterans.

“We want to deliver the very best possible health services to all South Australians who have served.

“If you are a veteran, or care for one, this is your chance to tell us what we’re getting right and where we can improve.”

Consultation on the draft SA Health Veteran Wellbeing Action Plan 2023-26 is open until Tuesday 28 February.

The veteran community is encouraged to provide feedback on the plan via a short survey, which takes approximately 10-20 minutes to complete.
