A generous Secret Santa has paid for the Toyworld lay-by of a very deserving Victor Harbor family.

Casey Andrae posted her heartfelt thanks to the kind stranger on Facebook saying,

“Dear Secret Santa,

You have no idea the gift you’ve given to our family this Christmas by paying off my lay-by at Toyworld Victor Harbor.

Your kindness, and that of Becky and Sharon at Toyworld who nominated us for the pay-off of our lay-buy, brought me to tears this afternoon.

I don’t know who you are and I know Becky said you didn’t want any posts but I have to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

My husband was diagnosed with cancer in November and it’s been a tough few months and a struggle to budget for Christmas especially since he’s no longer working, due to his health.

Our kids will now have the wonderful Christmas we wanted to give them, thanks to your gift of passing it on.

Next year we hope to do the same for another struggling family.

From our family to yours,

Merry Christmas!”

The total value of the layby was $260.

Casey said she’d gone into the store the previous week to cancel the sale as she couldn’t afford to make the payments.

When the stranger visited Toyworld and said they wanted to pay off a random family’s lay-buy the store’s owners nominated the Andraes.

Casey said she was “a blubbering mess” when Becky from Toyworld called her and told her what the generous stranger had done.

She relayed her story to ABC Radio Adelaide this morning and while she was on air the kindness continued. Another Victor Harbor local made contact and then passed on a gift of $200 to help the family have a lovely Christmas.
