Victor Harbor’s QuikFix team are losing their hair to help their co-worker Josh as he fights cancer.
Brett, Charles and Charlie will have their heads shaved and Chris will lose his “magnificent goatee beard”.
If they manage to raise more than $5000 Brett will also have his hair dyed bright pink.
All money raised through pledges will help Josh, their longest serving team member, until he can return to work.
He was diagnosed with cancer in November.
Despite initial surgery the cancer spread to his lungs, lymph nodes and arteries.
He started BEP chemotherapy in January and is undergoing four rounds of treatment.
The chemotherapy has made his hair fall out, which inspired his workmates to do the shave.
He has had to attend Flinders Medical Centre almost daily.
“The doctors are confident I can win this battle and, provided all things go well, I hope to be back at work in May 2021,” he said in a Facebook post.
“I first got diagnosed with cancer on the 9th of November 2020.”
“The emotions, the turmoil and the unknown had a massive impact on mine and my family’s lives.”
“Telling our children I had cancer was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.”
The QuikFix team are asking for pledges to help Josh support his young family while he is unable to work.
Taryn from JADS Hairdressers will be donating her time and premises for the event.
If you would like to support Josh and make sure Brett has to turn his hair pink you can make a donation to:
ANZ Victor Harbor,
Account Name: IT Josh Andrae

The team at QuikFix says, “We don’t mind if people even donate a dollar, because everything will count towards helping Josh,”
“We do understand that due to the last year of COVID-19 issues, and other factors, that not everyone will be in a position to help, and that is perfectly fine.”
