Victor Harbor won their first game of the season after defeating Yankalilla/Encounter Bay by three points during round 4 action in the Great Southern Football League ‘A’ Grade Women’s competition at Victor Harbor yesterday. In a low-scoring encounter, Yankalilla/Encounter Bay led by three points at halftime, before Victor Harbor kicked the only goal of the second half to win 2.4 (16) to 1.7 (13). Tyla Millard and Stacie Findlow were the goalkickers for the Roos, while Jardel Barker kicked the only goal for the Stingrays. Best players for ‘Victor’ included Skye Kartinyeri-Sumner, Tyla Millard, Lucy Rubie, Olivia Nobbs, Demi Morse and Elsie Upton. The Stingrays were served best by Kate Sanders, Amelia Bilney, Mahli Littlely, Barker, Matisse Hunter and Czenya Cavouras.


Willunga are the only undefeated side after four rounds following their 34-point win over McLaren Districts yesterday. The Demons led by 16 points at halftime, before kicking a further five goals to two in the second half to win 7.5 (47) to 2.1 (13). Jessica Kirk (2 goals) was named best-on-ground for Willunga and she was well supported by Jessica Harris, Tamara Page, Caitlin Radbone, Kirstin Remfrey and Cleo Guilfoyle. Best for McLaren Districts included Layla Rogers, Ally Bailey, Josephine Hoare, Akira Whelan, Kiera Harvey and Eva Petrucci.


Goolwa/Port Elliot consolidated their spot in the top-four with an 11-point win against Myponga-Sellicks. The Mudlarks led by three points at halftime, but failed to kick a goal in the second half as the Magpies won 4.2 (26) to 2.5 (17). Lucy Earl kicked two goals for the Magpies and was named best-on-ground. Other good players for Goolwa/Port Elliot were Eve Polmear, Rosie Shaw, Cassie Burrows, Annabel Cameron and Dana Polmear. Myponga-Sellicks’ best were Nari Wright, Lily-Rose Garner, Jacinta Wilson, Grace Deacon, Eden Coleman and Mandy Gay.
