Victor Pageant to go ahead at Morgan Park

South Coast locals of all ages have been cheered by the news that the Victor Harbor Christmas Pageant will go ahead on Saturday December 11.

The news that the event will go ahead comes after the Goolwa pageant was cancelled in July due to concerns about the numbers of volunteers that would be needed to adhere to a COVID-19 plan.

For the first time it will be held at the Victor Harbor Harness Racing Club at Morgan Park.

The decision to move the Victor Pageant to the racetrack shadows that of the organisers of the Adelaide Christmas Pageant.

That pageant was able to go ahead after moving from the traditional street parade to the more controlled environment at Adelaide Oval.

The Pageant will be organised in partnership by Rotary Victor Harbor, Rotary Encounter Bay and the City of Victor Harbor.

It will be followed by Carols By The Sea which usually features a host of bands, family entertainment and appearance by Santa and his elves.

Expressions of interest are being sought from all sectors of the community to submit Christmas floats.

Volunteers are also needed to organise the event and businesses are being asked to for sponsorship.

For more information, or to offer help, find out about entering a float or sponsoring the event contact Mark Irwin via 0417 080 050 or email [email protected]
