Viking Festival to go ahead

The 2021 SA Viking Festival will go ahead in Victor Harbor on the weekend of October 2 and 3.

The first festival was held last year and was a great success, with organisers having to turn people away at the gates.

Last year’s event was limited to 3000 tickets due to COVID restrictions but more than 4000 people also registered on the waitlist for tickets.

The organisers are hoping that this year’s event will be able to be larger and accommodate even more viking enthusiasts.

Tickets will go on sale from 9am on August 31.

Each day of the festival is expected to run from 10am to 4pm and there will also be a Viking Feast.

Further details of the feast will be announced over the coming weeks.

Last year’s festival included a beard competition, knife-makers, leather-craft, cider, beer and ales, camp games, viking themed fairy-floss, music (including a harpist and viking piper), spit-roasted meats, and many wonderful costumes.

People who would like to become stall holders for this year's event should send an expression of interest to [email protected]

Follow the Viking Festival Facebook page for more details of this year's event and competitions to win tickets.

The Festival is supported and sponsored by the City of Victor Harbor
