Happy Valley won their 12th game in a row to move a game clear on top of the Southern Football League (SFL) ladder after a comprehensive 82-point win over Flagstaff Hill during round 13 action at Happy Valley yesterday. The Vikings won every quarter on their way to a 16.7 (103) to 3.3 (21) victory. Dylan Brown kicked four goals for Happy Valley, while their best players were Sebastian Oliver, Brown, Harry Vick, Sam Flett and Harry Davenport. Best players for the Falcons included Mitchell Johnson, D’Arcy Mitchell and Ben Jeffries.
Christies Beach won their sixth game of the season with a comfortable 62-point win against Ironbank Cherry Gardens. ‘Christies’ led by just two points at halftime, before kicking 16 goals to six in the second half to win 24.18 (162) to 14.16 (100). The Saints had 11 different goalkickers with Michael Mazey, Josh de Roode and Callum Bennett kicking four goals apiece. Jak Goudman-Glasson and Elijah Ware kicked three goals each for Ironbank Cherry Gardens. Best players for Christies Beach included Mazey, Josh Semmens, de Roode, Nathan Sable, Shannon Archbold and Sean Mcivor. The Thunderers were best served by Chase Wooley, Levi Grigg and Jake Pokoina.
Noarlunga kept their finals hopes alive with a 50-point win against Morphett Vale yesterday. The Shoes won every quarter on their way to a 20.11 (131) to 11.15 (81) victory. Brad Inglis had a day out for Noarlunga with 15 goals in a best-on-ground performance. Inglis now has 62 goals this season. Scott Ridley and Robert Schindler-Taylor kicked three goals each for the Emus. Joining Brad Inglis in the best players for the Shoes included Nick Mott, Dustin Inglis, Callum Gaspari, Scott Gates and Jamison Snelling. Best players for Morphett Vale were Max Sampson, Schindler-Taylor, Daniel Bode, Connor Mulloy and Braydan Hartwig.
Reynella kept their top-three chances alive after a comprehensive 135-point win at home against Aldinga. The Wine Flies led by a whopping 108 points at halftime, before kicking eight goals to four in the second half to win 25.14 (164) to 4.5 (29). SFL leading goalkicker Bailey Marshman kicked five goals for the Wine Flies and he was well supported by Luke Cooper, Jake Agnew and Callan Semple who all kicked four goals. Best players for Reynella included Bradley Potter, Jack Ball, Matthew Stanford, Liam Reid, James Papworth and Alex Lawley. Aldinga’s best included Blake Florance, Mackenzie Darling and Zach Young.
Port Noarlunga consolidated their spot in the top-three with a hard-fought 24-point win at home against Cove. ‘Porties’ held a slender three-point lead at the last change, before kicking four goals to one in the last quarter, to win 16.12 (108) to 13.6 (84). Nick Steele was best on ground for Port Noarlunga and he was well supported by Tom Redden, Zac Sproule (5 goals), Eduard Van den berg and Gary Karpany (4 goals). Ryan Need kicked five goals for the Cobras and was named their best player and he received good support from Jackson Riddle, Max Sweet, Lachlan Hayes and Jack Plenty.
