Vikings take a big scalp in the Southern Football League

Happy Valley fired a warning shot to the competition after defeating Flagstaff Hill by 62 points during round 4 action in the Southern Football League (SFL) at Flagstaff Hill today. The Vikings led by 18 points at halftime, before kicking 10 goals to three in the second half to win 15.9 (99) to 5.7 (37). Flagstaff Hill had 10 different goalkickers with Luke Edwards leading the way with three goals, while Mason Carney kicked two goals for Flagstaff Hill. Best players for Happy Valley included Harry Davenport, Nicholas Kraemer, Cooper Rogers, Jack Flett, Harry Spacie and Dylan Brown. Best players for the Falcons were Mason Carney, Reece Milsom, Joshua Rosman and D’Arcy Mitchell.


Port Noarlunga went to the top of the ladder after a big 126-point win against Cove at Hallett Cove. Port Noarlunga won every quarter on their way to a 29.20 (194) to 10.9 (69) victory. The Cockle Divers had 12 different goalkickers with Oliver Petrohilos (6), Nathaniel Paredes (5), Nathan Hedger (4) and Gary Karpany (4) leading the way. Lincoln Holder was the only multiple goalkicker for the Cobras with three majors. Best players for ‘Porties’ included Todd Mckay, Brodie Smith, Nathaniel Paredes, Oliver Petrohilos, Richard O'Grady and Oliver Goss. The Cobras were best served by Roger Morris, Lucas Hill, Holder, Jack Plenty and Zachary Thomas.


Noarlunga won their first game of the season after defeating Morphett Vale by 82 points at Old Noarlunga today. The Shoes led at every change to run out winners 20.12 (132) to 7.8 (50). Brad Inglis was the standout forward on the ground with eight goals for the Shoes, while Connor Lock kicked three goals for the Emus. Aaron Killian was best-on-ground for the Shoes and he was well supported by Josh Inglis, Nick Mott, Ben Goldfinch, Luke Ross and Dustin Inglis. Best for Morphett Vale included Max Sampson, Oleh Trus, Vincent Tassone, Cody Mulloy, Jaxon Newman and Cody Prime.


Christies Beach won their second game of the season with a comfortable 53-point win over Ironbank Cherry Gardens at Bice Oval this evening. The Saints led throughout to win 16.11 (107) to 7.12 (54). Christies Beach skipper Mackenzie Nield kicked four goals and he was well supported by Aidan Coakley with three majors. Jak Goudman-Glasson kicked four goals for the Thunderers. Coakley, Nield, Austin Hogg, Joshua Semmens, Rhys Mundy and Liam Chibnall were named best for ‘Christies’, while best players for Ironbank Cherry Gardens were James Cross, Alec Bryars, Jake Pokoina, Dylan Kahl, Kyle Schefe and Jacob Campbell.


Reynella consolidated their spot in the top-five with a convincing 104-point win at Aldinga today. The Wine Flies set up their win with a nine-goal to two second term, before winning 20.16 (136) to 5.2 (32). Bailey Marshman kicked seven goals for Reynella (16 for the season) and Jake Agnew slotted five majors. Tom Pilmore was the only multiple goalkicker for the Sharks with two goals. Best players for the Wine Flies included Liam Reid, Tyler Davies, Matthew Stanford, James Papworth, Marshman and Agnew. Aldinga was best served by Angus Stangewitz, Blake Florance, Thomas Boreham, Harrison Jarman and Jack Farrell.
