Happy Valley won through to the 2025 Southern Football League (SFL) Grand Final after a thrilling five-point win over Port Noarlunga in the second semi-final at Aldinga on Saturday. ‘Porties’ started well to lead by 25 points at quarter time, before the Vikings hit back to trail by just six points at the long break. The Cockle Divers extended their lead to nine points at the last change, before Happy Valley kicked 2.2 to 0.0 in the final term to win 9.7 (61) to 8.8 (56). Nick Kraemer kicked two goals for Happy Valley, while Zac Sproule was the standout forward on the ground with five goals for Port Noarlunga. Best players for Happy Valley included Dylan Strickland, Harry Spacie, Jack Flett, Cooper Rogers, Sam Flett and Darnell Tucker. Best for Port Noarlunga were Brodie Smith, Nathaniel Paredes, Richard O'Grady, Rhys Mckay, Sproule and Todd McKay.
Flagstaff Hill are through to Saturday’s Preliminary Final after defeating Christies Beach by 20 points in the first semi-final at Port Noarlunga yesterday. ‘Flaggies’ held Christies Beach goalless in the first half as they led by 33 points at halftime. ‘Christies’ kicked five goals to three in the second half, however the Falcons prevailed 8.8 (56) to 5.6 (36). Ben Rossi was the only multiple goalkicker on the field with two majors for Flagstaff Hill, while their best players included Brad Kirk, Blake Aldridge, Brayden Heyward-Ferors, David Kearsley, Nathan Beenham and Aiden Grayson. Meanwhile, best for the Saints were Ryan Matthews, Harrison Butcher, Josh Semmens, Nathan Stock, Thomas Kirwan and Joseph Hitch.
