The District Council of Yankalilla is calling for volunteers to train in supporting people to complete an Advance Care Directive.
This is part of the Advance Care Directives Project, a partnership between the council, the City of Victor Harbor and Alexandrina Council, together with the Fleurieu Advance Care Directives (ACD) Reference Group.
At some point in everyone’s life, there may come a time when they are unable to make a decision.
If this happens, it can be very reassuring to have planned ahead about decisions to be made about r health care, living arrangements and other personal matters.
The ACD Project aims to develop a community service that will equip people with the information they need to complete their own Advance Care Directive.
The council is looking for dedicated volunteers interested in undertaking training to support community members to complete their own Advance Care Directive.
Anyone interested in finding out more about becoming a volunteer should call the Community Team on 8558 0200 or via email.
Residents can purchase Advance Care Directive kits and forms from the Council Office at 1 Charles Street, Yankalilla.
The kits cost $5 and additional application forms can be purchased for $1.
