The Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island have 13 towns in the running for South Australian Agricultural Town of the Year 2024.
Now in its fourth year, the award was initiated by the Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA) and delivered in partnership with Solstice Media.
It aims to highlight the vital role played by agriculture in regional communities, recognising South Australian towns that lead the way in agricultural practices.
A record 73 towns across the state have been nominated this year and the public vote is now open.

In an interesting development, one of the 73 ‘towns’ nominated is the Barossa Valley, an agricultural region containing several individual townships.
Voting closes on Wednesday 27 June; go to the Solstice Media website to lodge a vote.
The top ten towns, as determined by the public vote, will be announced in July.
Judges will make town visits to the finalists in September and the winning town will be announced on 24 October.
PIRSA will then organise a celebration event for the town during the summer.
The Eyre Peninsula town of Wudinna took out South Australian Agricultural Town of the Year 2023.
Previous winners were Mypolonga in 2022 and Kimba in 2021.
