An extra Justice of the Peace (JP) service starts from today, Saturday 25 March at the Victor Harbor library.
A JP acts as an independent and objective witness to documents people use for official or legal purposes.
They may be able to assist with certifying a true copy of an original document, certifying a person's identity, witnessing an affidavit for use in court, witnessing a statutory declaration, or witnessing the signing of a document.
There is already a JP available at the Civic Centre from 11am to 1pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and from 2pm to 4pm on Thursdays and Fridays.
The new Saturday morning service will be available at the library from 9.30am to 11am.
It is part of a three month trial by the City of Victor Harbor to assess interest in the additional service.
To find an available JP anywhere in South Australia, there is a search function by postcode available online.
