Western Districts and Wisanger dominate Kangaroo Island Football

Wisanger consolidated their spot in the top two following a convincing 117-point win over bottom side Dudley United during round nine action in the Kangaroo Island Football League (KIFL) on Saturday. Wisanger led by 15 points at quarter time, 46 points at halftime and 85 points at the last change before winning 24.18 (162) to 7.3 (45). Sam Clifford starred up forward for the Panthers with seven goals, while Kyrrell Barton kicked two goals for the Eagles. Nick Berry, Jackson Lockett, Clifford, Liam Sampson and Jai Turner were named best players for Wisanger. For Dudley United, Peter Reichelt, Sam McLeay and Chris Denholm were among their best players. 


Western Districts won their seventh game of the season with a comfortable 84-point win at Kingscote. The Saints led at every change to win 20.15 (135) to 8.3 (51). Boom recruit Joel Cross kicked seven goals for the Saints in a best-on-ground display, while Lleyton Hedges kicked five goals to give him 34 majors for the season. Paul Green was a standout for Kingscote with five goals. Joining Cross in the best players for Western Districts were Tate Barrett, Tim Larcombe, Brad Crabb and Henry Hammat. Blake Florance, Riley Puckridge, Rory Lovering, Green and Zak Siemer were best for Kingscote.
